  • Icy Walk

    icywalk
    It was frosty to-day
    Fresh and clean
    As I trudged my pathway
    Grey ice on the sidewalk
    Be careful I thought
Watch for that darn black ice ,too
    It’s so hard to see
    I crash the next moment
    Feet flying
    Hands flailing
    I descend in a heap
    Glasses and hat ascue
    Did I break anything
    Does everything move
    Get up if you can
    Embarrassed, clothes in disarray
    I’M UP
    Ouch, I’m bruised
    But everything works
    I’ll stop for a coffee
    Then toddle off home
    Try again to-morrow
It will work out the stiffness
    Of that surprising big thump.

Phased Out - Heart Songz Poetry

I’ve got the signs of aging
    The spots are coming out
My toes are numb and cold
And eyes of course are fading
The bones all have an ache
The joints are stiff or creak
    The stomach gets excited
And can’t take food of late
    My bathroom stops are many
    Life doesn’t seem much fun
But loads and loads of time have I
To sit and count each one!
