A cup of cocoa
Hot and smooth
My frazzled nerves
Will gently soothe
A cup of cocoa
Calms my brain
Bids it banish
All it’s strain
A cup of cocoa
At the hour of four
Will drift me away
To sleep some more!
Autumn days are here again
Painted in gold and russet brown
Trees are shedding foliage
Leaves quilt now the forest floor
Morning dew in droplets are
Crystal beads on spider web and grass
While amber, slanting sun rays
Have misplaced their summer heat
The coolness of fickle breezes
Taunt a lonely walker
To bundle his coat tightly
And hasten on his way.
